What engineered hardwood installation means in Des Moines

How engineered hardwood installation goes down
It goes down glued to the slab with a moisture-control urethane adhesive, or floated over an underlay, or nailed if there is a wood subfloor and the board is thick enough to take a cleat.
On a basement slab we test moisture with a calcium chloride test or an in-slab probe before choosing the adhesive. A slab that reads high needs a membrane or a moisture-blocking adhesive, and skipping that step is how a glued floor releases in patches two summers later.
Floated floors need a perimeter expansion gap at every wall and every fixed object, hidden by the base shoe. A floating floor pinned by a door casing or a kitchen island will buckle in the middle of the room.
